Watcha' Playin'

I have decided that I'm gonna just write about the games that I have been playing. I'll probably hopefully do a update every week or so. Let's just hope that I remember to do updates.

November 4th 2008

So life has been pretty weird the last month or so. I planned on doing another video game marathon (to get all the games out of the way that I haven't played yet, because there are so many fricken games comming out this holiday season) but that was slowly pushed aside to work on my Mame arcade cabinet. Then when I was about to sit down and play again, I was wisked away to california for what was supposed to be 2 day and turned in to a 10 day trip. Now I am back and have litterly dozens of new games that I need to play with still more comming out.... it's insane. I do want to do some reviews....that is if I ever get to play a game till the end.

September 23rd 2008

I know I haven't updated this part in a while. I've just been pretty busy. While haveing spent a good chunk of the Summer in california, I wasn't able to play as many games as I have been wanting to. But besides, there hasn't been that many good games out this summer anyways.

But back to the subject at hand, I've been playing a lot of random games as of late, after I modded my Xbox 360 when I got back home from Andy's Wedding, so I've been doing a lot of downloading and burning of 360 games, some suck, and some are awesome.

Rock Band 2; What can I say about this game other than it got leaked on my Birthday and I got to spend my Birthday going to Casa Bonita and then coming home and playing Rock Band 2 with Eric....It's basically exactly like the first one but a few changes here and there. Plus 100 more songs to play....Master Exploder, 'Nuff said.

Eternal Sonata: This is a RPG, which for the most part I usually hate, other than Chrono Trigger and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This game is all based on the life of Chopin (you know, the famous classical composer and pianist). Well, You play as a bunch of people who are in the Dream world of Chopin as he is very ill. It's actually very good.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed: I was super excited for this game from the moment I heard about it. You play as "Starkiller" Darth Vader's secret apprentice. and you have every force power imaginable.... You basically kick butt and take names. I only have a few complaints with the game, most being glitches that freeze up when you are on the final boss battle or the second level boss... I'm not gonna go into them in any detail because if I start talking about them, I'll just get angry and upset. Play the game, just not on the hardest difficulty...

July 2nd 2008

John Stamos and The Panda Bears announce that they are taking a much needed break. They will be out of commission for the next few weeks after ending their world tour in Denver, Colorado with an intimate little set of songs. JSATPB have been performing multiple shows in huge countries, selling out their shows and getting the "Big In..." Achievements for most of the world. After that and the long shows getting over one million fans, band manager Miles Moore held a press conference stating

" The band has been playing their hearts out and now need to take a little time to tend to some family events, weddings and the like. They will be enjoying some much needed R&R out in southern california for the next few weeks. After that they will come back refreshed and also with some new songs."

June 23th 2008

Gamefly was having a 'Summer Blowout Sale" so I bought Burnout Paradise for 15 bucks. I've forgotten that it was actually a pretty fun Burnout game, although I still prefer the Crash-mode and Burnout 3:Takedown...The Commercial was the best!

June 20th 2008

Since I left my copy of Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80's in Jeffers The Panda Bear's PS2 when I moved, I decided to rent it from gamefly, only so that I could play two songs on it....Eddie Money's Shakin', and The Scandals' Warrior. I love those songs. I'm gonna try and get that game when I get back down to california this time.

June 18th 2008

Ahhhh, where would I be without Gamefly? Sega Superstar Tennis came in the mail a while ago and that is all that I've been playing for the past week or two, since putting GTAIV on hold for a bit ...after getting stuck on the last mission of the game ...ugh. I'll beat that sometime this month hopefully. Back to Sega Superstar Tennis. Basically take the Nintendo 64 version of Mario Tennis, swap out the Nintendo characters and throw in Sega characters and give it a new shiny spit polish in the graphics department and you have Sega Superstar Tennis. That being said, it's actually a really really fun game, The Superstar Mode makes it really fun, with different levels from all the past Sega Games. Some are really familiar like the Sonic, Super Monkey Ball, Jet Grind Radio, Nights into Dreams, Outrun...but then there are some random ones thrown in there, House of The Dead, Virtual Cop, and my personal favorite, Samba De Amigo. I forgot about that game....now I wish I didn't sell my Dreamcast when I moved. Oh well ...maybe I'll get another one sometime.

June 1st 2008

Welp, since I really didn't feel like playing more of Kingdom Under Fire, I decided to play a new game, well not really NEW, but new to me. I got Marvel Ultimate Alliance at the Buy-Back-Games in Downtown Denver, and had it for a couple weeks. But I was so busy with GTA IV that I never played it. I'm happy to say that I've played through about half of the game now, and it is AWESOME! It's just like the X-Men Legends game on the original Xbox. Which I never played through all the way, but this blows it out of the water.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance takes everything that made X-Men Legends good, and improved upon it. The whole RPG-ish aspect of the game it fun and not tedious like most RPGs. The the semi Top Down/Side view is awesome. Basically take X-Men Legends and give it better graphics, voice acting for almost all the characters, an awesome story line, and expand it to the whole Marvel Universe and you have Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It is a Multi-platform game, so if you have a PS2/PS3, 360, or a Wii, pick it up and play it...NOW!!!

May 29th 2008

I finally got around to playing Army of Two that has been sitting next to my 360 from Gamefly for the last month. It was a pretty fun game, I was only able to play it on Normal first because you have to play though and unlock Hard Mode (which I hate, because I rarely play through a game more than once, and I always play on the Hardest level available) so that being said,it wasn't hard at all, I beat it in two days, playing for a couple hours both days. I would have liked to have played it with someone else, but I'm not about to go on Xbox LIve and just get "matched up" with some random 12 year old kid who swears like a sailor.

After I beat that game, I sat down and started to play the other game that I got from Gamefly, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle Of Doom. Pretty cool title at least. I loved the first game that came out on the original Xbox, it was really fun and just a great Hack n' Slasher. Plus with the whole Medieval theme, it was really cool. This game however, is not really like it the first one. But it still is ok. I'll just have to play more of it.

May 8th 2008

I was hoping to beat GTA IV before I left, but man, it's such a big game, and there is so much stuff to do and see in it that I just didn't get to it. I keep getting interrupted by my "friends" when I'm right about to do a mission, that I get sidetracked (Just like in real life!) It's great though, I'm hoping to beat it by next week. I've got some stuff to finish up at work and also I want to do some riding around town on my bike.

April 29th 2008

So I stood in line for two hours at the Best Buy in Downtown Denver, I got on the news and got my copy of GTA IV. It's amazing, I will be playing this game all night long and also for the rest of the week till I leave for california. I must say the detail is amazing!

April 26th 2008

In preparation of getting games out of the way so that I can sit down and play nothing but Grand Theft Auto IV, I've been playing random games...I started up Project Gotham Racing 4 again, I forgot how awesome the bikes were in that game! Then I played a bunch of Rock Band over the weekend. Finally played Rock Band with someone else too, Beagle and her friend Lisa stayed over and I played Guitar, while Lisa was on the drums and Beagle rocked the Vocals! It was awesome.

April 22nd 2008

I suddenly got the urge to play GTA: Vice City, I don't know why exactly, but I just thought it would be fun to play again. So I loaded my Xbox back up and loaded Vice City up for the first time in a few years...the controls came right back to me.

April 11th 2008

Well, I did set out to play nothing but old school games, but the guys over at thebbps.com held a Gaming Social Night. It was the first one in a long long time, and I'm an avid reader of the site. They are awesome people and they are the ones who held the Rock Band contest that I won last year that got me that awesome Rock Band shirt that I wear alot. We played some Call Of Duty 4, which I think was the most fun, then we played Bomberman Live, which was a hoot. Then finished it off with Halo 3, which wasn't all the fun until we did "Rocket Race" but the first few times weren't all that great.

All in all, it was a great night of playing on Live with a bunch of people that were really fun to play with and funny. I came in 2 most of the times, but tied for first in CoD 4 too. But every team Vs Team game, I was on the winning team with usually the most points....Seems as though I'm pretty good....hehehe. Go to their site, it's really good, and well done.

April 6th-12th 2008

I've been playing all old school classic games. Anything that is not on the current generation systems.

Sunday the 6th

Started off by playing Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo. This game is absolutely amazing and I would encourage anyone who has a Super Nintendo and the money to buy this game, you will not regret it. If you don't feel like spending a couple hundred bucks on a Super Nintendo and a game, then download an Emulator for your PC and download the game from any random ROM site, or just email me and I'll send you the game. It's amazing, I played this game for about 4 hours tonight and got stuck on this one part, so I'll go to bed now (it's 3:45 am) I'll play a little bit more tomorrow night.

Monday the 7th

Started Playing the Sonic series. Beat Sonic 1 in about an hour and a half, took a little bit of time to beat one of the bosses, and I got stuck for about ten minutes on one of the levels. Lousy enemy kept killing me. Started Sonic 2 but it took so long getting all the Chaos Emeralds that I'm going to stop playing and play some Chrono Trigger.

Played more of Chrono Trigger and spent about a good two and a half hours running around trying to get random stuff. Beat a couple bosses and got the Masamune sword, It's broken so I have to get it repaired. The only way to get it fixed is to find a rare "Red Rock"...yeah real helpful. I'll stop again tonight (3:30 am this time)

Tuesday the 8th

Picked up and finished Sonic 2 with all the Chaos Emeralds and Super Sonic. Also Beat Sonic 3 and started Sonic CD....I never could get this working correctly before so I've only seen parts of this game in action...wow, pretty tough because you just have no idea what is the actual level and what is background and foreground. It's fun though, and Sonic looks awesome when he runs at full speed (His legs turn into the infinity symbol) The music is awesome too, maybe second best.

Played some Road Rash as well and got a new bike after coming in 5th on every race because everyone's bike was way faster than mine. Got some more money, but this game takes a while to beat. Kinda tired (even though its not even midnight yet) So I think I'll just call it a night and either get back to Sonic or Chrono Trigger tomorrow.

Wednesday the 9th

Played Chrono Trigger most of the night, I went to bed pretty early though, wasn't feeling great.

Thursday the 10th

Played Chrono Trigger most of the day....wow, I forgot how long this game was....I got past the part that I was stuck at a couple years ago....I think could technically beat the game now, but I want to make sure all my characters have the best weapons and armor and health...basically make them max out all their levels. It's such a fun and great game, Probably in my Top 5, if not Top 10 for sure.

Friday the 11th

Beat Chrono Trigger! Wow, about 21 to 22 hours. Got all the side quests done, so I saved all the people and got the best ending. Really good game! I highly suggest everyone to play this game. It's totally worth it. Final boss wasn't even that hard, way harder bosses in the middle of the game...oh well, it was still really fun...I got that feeling, that is really hard to describe, again. It's like a little anxiety, and joy, and just a hit of scared.......It's really weird, I've gotten it a couple times in my life when I beat games... Gamer's Euphoria I guess... Whatever.

I also played Star Fox, which brought back alot of great memories, also a couple other games, like Super Mario All-Stars+World, and a couple random Super Nintendo games, none worth mentioning.

Saturday the 12th

Finishing up the Old School Gaming Week Spectacular.... It's been super fun. Played a little more Super Mario All Stars+World, and played Toejam and Earl...I was going to get to some other games, but Chrono Trigger took up most of my week, and the Sonic games....but I wouldn't have traded it for anything. It was so much fun. Beating Chrono Trigger was by far the highlight of my week. I might try and do it again maybe in the next couple of months...it showed me that games aren't all about Graphics, but if the gameplay is good, and the game has a decent storyline; it really doesn't matter what the game looks like, it'll be a great game.
